float spa guide

...and all things relevant to COVID-19

Please take a moment to review the information

on this page if you plan to visit the Float Spa.

Saratoga Springs Float Spa has revised its already robust safety protocols and procedures to further ensure everyone's safety and well being.  These steps were developed in accordance with New York State, the CDC, and float industry specific guidelines.

We've divided it up into three basic categories: reserving an appointment, the day of your appointment, and cleaning & disinfecting.

Our goal, as it has always been, is to provide our community with a clean, safe, comfortable environment.  Thank you for helping us to continue to do so.

reserving an appointment

  • Float appointments must be reserved in advance via our website.  A credit card is required, and we encourage you to pay in advance.  If you wish to pay by cash or check, we have a drop box available, but there will be no checkouts in the spa to reduce social interaction.

  • Float Waivers must be signed prior to you coming in, and are only required once.  NYS requires COVID-19 Waivers to be completed the day of your visit each time you visit.

  • The float orientation video must be reviewed prior to coming or on your mobile device when you arrive.

  • Bring a comb and contact lens case/solution if required.  We still supply soap, shampoo, conditioner, ear plugs, shower sponge, towels, and a hair dryer.

  • Please stay home if you or a family member have any signs or symptoms of illness.  (Staff members will do the same.)  We are offering full refunds, even for last minute cancellations.

the day of your appointment

  • Arrive no more than 5 minutes early for your appointment.  Our door will remain locked.

  • Ring the bell to let us know you've arrived.  We will greet you to take your temperature with a touchless thermometer.

  • Masks are required to be worn properly (covering nose and mouth) by both clients and float staff at all times.  No exceptions!  Mask can be removed once you are alone in your float room, but must be back on when you come out.

  • Our waiting area is closed to seating.  Everyone will be asked to go directly to their float room upon entering our shop, and asked to please exit our shop after their appointment.  No guests are allowed for the time being.

  • We are asking that everyone please remove your shoes at the door.

  • Please maintain 6ft of distance between yourself and others.  If two single floats are booked at the same time, we will welcome you in one at a time.

  • If you require the restroom, we will walk you down the hall to let you in.

  • COVID-19 waiver is required the day of your appointment or we can send it to your mobile device when you arrive.

cleaning/disinfecting

Saratoga Float has always been on the leading edge when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting.  While waterborne illness experts claim COVID-19 is unlikely to be spread in float tanks, pools or spas, we still like to go above and beyond.  Here are all of the steps we take before and after every client to ensure a safe clean environment both inside and outside of the float tanks:

  • Float tank solution, as always, is disinfected with UV light, and passed through a commercial grade pool filtration system no less than 4 times.  Hydrogen Peroxide is also added for supplementary sanitation and oxidation.

  • Float tank interiors, showers, vanity areas, common areas, door knobs, clothes hooks, light switches etc are all treated using safe EPA approved disinfectants.
